“Windows Mobile 6.5 does not support some of the important programming interfaces that we need.”
To read the official explanation of why Adobe has now ditched the development of Flash 10.1 to Windows Mobile 6.5. It seems, however, a slightly odd that they had not studied the technical feasibility of development on this platform since the project was presented last year. We doubt that this is the real reason why development stopped.
Phone Windows 7 was presented at the Mobile World Congress earlier this month, and there is no doubt that Adobe would rather support Flash 10.1 on the new version of the operating system than the old. Windows 7 Phone is a new departure for Microsoft, and there has already been much interest around the future of software.
