Facebook chat Application Emoinstaller gets sizzling Emoticons. Some people love them, some people hate them, but there is no denying they constitute a quite an essential element in the world of instant messaging. Ever since we saw a yellow circle looking effortlessly cool, online chat windows have been peppered with bouncing representations of every conceivable mood, the symbols becoming ever more varied and increasingly eye-catching. Facebook emoticons and symbols High demand has made for more sophisticated animations, and now catalogues of facebook emoticons cover more ground than a Dulux paint chart.

facebook emoticons animated: Instant Messaging, though, is going through an evolution. As Facebook continues in its quest for world domination, Facebook Chat’s share of the IM market grows along with it, and despite the comparative simplicity of Facebook Chat, the pulling power of the social networking giant affords its IM client a great deal of popularity. Consequently there are an increasing number of associated programs and add-ons that are filling in the gaps in its features, allowing users to have the kind of experience they were used to in more established clients such as MSN and Yahoo.

One such tool is Emoinstaller, a dedicated emoticon product that offers a selection sizeable enough to keep even the most demanding of emo-addicts satisfied. Released by Athena Limited, the extension gives Facebook Chat users access to over 900 emoticons (that’s right, over 900!) within the existing message windows across different browsers, working with Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer and Google Chrome.
A small file size and well designed installation setup means it’s quick and easy to get going, taking only a couple of minutes and a browser restart to be fully operational. Once installed, when you start up a conversation on Facebook Chat a little monkey icon appears in the bottom left corner of the window, sitting next to the square speech bubbles in the text bar. Click on the monkey (named ‘Emo’ by the creators) and the emoticons are there waiting to be used.
The main selling point for Emoinstaller is the sheer variety available to choose from. The range starts with traditional ground of happy, sad, confused and so on, while also providing a selection of one-eyed alternatives in the ‘Cyclops’ section. The round, yellow faces are accompanied by a range of human ones that give a bit more characterisation; ample music and sport sections combine with a decent offering of animals; and an extended list of random objects completes the set of facebook emoticons you might expect to find on such a program.
This, however, is only the beginning of Emoinstaller. The little touches are great for brightening up a typical IM conversation, but the real fun comes when you click over to the medium and large sized icons.
At the medium setting the classic emoticons have grown into moving, waving characters that breathe life into the window. There’s a more detailed offering at each age range as well; babies, school kids and teenagers each get their own section, and are joined by themes such as Summer, Gangster and Bad Girls and Boys. The Christmas, Easter and Halloween cartoons bring some light hearted personality to images that could otherwise be too clichéd, and there are some adult touches to be seen with the depictions of a man enjoying a quiet pint and a married couple arguing. Hit the large setting and these images become even clearer, jumping out of the screen like miniature e-cards.
The only real downside is that you can only share them with other Emoinstaller users, so if your friends haven’t downloaded it, all they will receive is a message telling them about to check it out. For the casual emoticoner this might be off putting if they consider it unnecessary hassle, and if you are alone in your enthusiasm amongst your friends then you won’t get much joy from the application. Of course there are many that will scoff at the notion of emoticons for facebook, but if you have lots of friends that love emoticons as much as you, then simple access to hundreds of the little devils will be a welcome addition to your IM world.
