LG unveils monster mobile, true computing power

Mobile phones will be stronger and stronger, and may eventually clear more of the tasks which would have a better computer to do. The gap between phones and computers are not quite closed, but with a new model from LG is just been minor. LG has just unveled the new LG GW990 mobile phone in its U.S. CES trade show .  The LG GW990 can be termed as a great mobile with real computing power and a huge touch screen.

The new model called LG GW990 and reminds most of all on an oversized touch-mobile. Touch screen is 4.8 inches and has the high and very broad resolution 480 x 1024 pixels. Inside banks a real computer heart, since the processor is a so-called Intel Moorestown processor, and is thus a real x86-based core, in contrast to today’s mobiles, which are all based on ARM technology. The model uses Intel’s Moblin OS, but the LG should also occur with other operating systems later.

Besides the overgrown screen and powerful processor LG GW990 has all features of  modern phones. There are so turbo-3G, GPS and WiFi in the model and the camera is 5 megapixels. LG GW990 battery is fortunately quite large and has a capacity of 1850 mAh, which is about 50 percent more than the average smartphone otherwise have today. There is of course room for sim card model if one would like to use it as his cell phone.

LG GW990 is expected to come out in the second half of this year to a yet unknown price.
