C5 First Impressions

The Nokia -C5 is the first phone from the series, the new C-Class models from Nokia. It also uses the successful S60 user interface of the Finnish mobile phone manufacturer. Nokia falsely praises the C5 as a smartphone, which, however, the lack of touch operation can not really be described as such. For Nokia’s newest mid-class model does not have an input interface via touch screen or QWERTY keyboard, but uses the old proven technology, a traditional numeric keypad in conjunction with a joystick.

Nokia C5 Social Networks

Nokia C5-00 is extended especially to Chat and Social Network features. With the operating system S60 3rd Edition this mobile phone is now the way in which social networks via mobile Internet.Several of these programs have connections to social networks, and which include YouTube, MySpace and Facebook. In Facebook app, you can see what your friends are doing, and upload their own pictures or write current status.Want constant track of what is the best thing you can do to provide Facebook-icon in the row of shortcuts on the start screen.

C5 Display

One can see clearly see that Nokia has not prioritized the screen particularly high. Most obvious is perhaps that it is so small, paltry 2.2 inches. User can get quite depressed by looking at a small screen, when you’ve become accustomed to the big, beautiful touch-screens at least 3.5

Nokia C5 Browser

Thus does the browser somewhat limited. The Nokia Web browser with a little mouse that you control on the page to click on links and scrolling. Funnier is Nokia’s IM program that makes you can be online on their Ovi-chat, but also on MSN and Google Talk and Yahoo Messenger. Since this is a smartphone, despite the low price, you can easily have the chat running in the background and be inside to grab, while doing other things with the phone.

Nokia C5 Camera

The camera is 3 megapixels, but sadly no autofocus. Lamp, by contrast, and although it is tiny, it really good light. Video phone can record the entire 640 x 480 pixels, and also that you get light from the lamp. It seems, however, that the phone has a little hard to handle large video files behind, for it is somewhat sluggish.

Nokia C5 Music

As a music mobile speaker jack to ordinary headphones for C5. It also makes the excellent FM radio in the phone, because it provides good sound, and it finds the channels for you.

Free Navigation

The screen of Nokia C5 makes it unlikely for a GPS navigator of rank, but if you get lost, does it still surprisingly good. C5 is one of the phones that Nokia provides for free navigation, an initiative which came just after Google went with the free navigation of the competing smartphone system Android. Although the monitor is not as useful in this context because it is so small, so the voice navigation works anyway.

Conclusion

Nokia C5 is otherwise a nice mobile with a neat design and cost around 1300 dollars is nothing wrong with, especially when you consider that this is a smartphone with Symbian OS 9.3.

You can read the big tests of Nokia C5 in the next issue of Mobile, who is on the 15th street July.
