Despite Nokia music plans its has numerous patents on mobile technology like nokia self charging mobiles, and now they seek a second, this time a mobile phone that can recharge itself. The idea is not in itself new, and as the title of the patent application reveals “Kinetic Piezoelectric Energy Harvester“, So Nokia will charge mobile phones using kinetic energy.
There is talk about making a nokia battery comprising the battery itself, contained in a container that is larger so that it can move into it. The movements of the battery is picked up by the piezoelectric devices that convert kinetic energy into electricity.
By using the battery as the movable element, which is among the heaviest parts of a cell phone, will the concept could use as much of the kinetic energy from the person who walks around with the phone as possible.
It is not disclosed in the patent, how effective the method will be, or how much movement it takes to keep an ordinary battery charger.
