After a period of declining sales figures and even a negative trend in the number of sold computers figure the last half year has been increasing. The latest sales figures from Gartner for 4th-quarter 2009 shows a sharp increase of 22.1% over the same period last year, to over 90 million computers.
The new figure for lower PC slaes for 2009 takes Gartner as a sign that the economic crisis by facilitating the PC market, but not everything is black and white. The figures cover a surge in sales of cheaper computers, such as. netbooks on the market for portable computers.
Dive Mon slightly down in numbers, so it can be seen that America stands for much of the increase, as sales here have increased by 26.5%, whereas in the EMEA (Europe-Middle East-Africa) only rose by 3 , 6%.
Among the manufacturers HP occupies first place in global sales, followed by Acer, which has seen a huge increase of 48.4% in the last quarter compared with same period last year. Dell, however, disappointed and well below average with an increase of only 5.5%
