Mary Lou Jepsen of Pixel Qi’s company on his blog announced that the company is ready to launch a new, easily-replaceable laptop screen. The screen should be good to use in sunlight, and the inspiration to change comes from Jepsen’s experience with the One Laptop per Child project. Here was computer designed so that children could even replace the basic parts that could break.

The new monitor comes as a do-it-yourself kit, so it according Pixel Qi would not be very difficult to change the screen in his laptop than it is to change a light bulb. Message from Pixel Qi is that if even a 11-year old Nigerian girl can do it, so you can too.
