Good news for iPhone4, iPhone 3GS, iPad, iPod Touch 4G/3G that MuscleNerd iPhone Dev Team has confirmed that the new untethered Jailbreak using Redsnow 0.9.8 and PwnageTool 4.3 is intended for all iDevices including 2nd-generation Apple TV(except iPad 2). It has also been confirmed by MuscleNerd that untethered jailbreak for windows and Mac OS will come with Redsnow while PwnageTool will be released for Windows.
The untethered jailbreak will be available for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, iPod Touch 3G, iPad and Apple TV 2G but iPad 2 is not included in the list
The purpose of both jailbreak tools- Redsnow and PwnageTool- is same but the former is easy to use and anyone with basic knowledge can easily jailbreak iPhone. Whereas, the latter is difficult to handle as it allows you to preserve the baseband of your iPhone so that you can also unlock your iPhone after jailbreaking.
iPad 2 user would have to also be patient yet. Comex is currently working at full speed around here too soon to announce good news.
