Finally. Although it took an unexpected great length of time, Skype is here. And skype softwareÂ is available for both the iPhone and iPod Touch. Skype for iphone and ipod interface is crisp and simple. skype software for iphone and ipod allows users to operate the Skype client from their iPhones. Like Skypeâ€™s online service, this will involve free calls to other Skype users and cheap calls (requiring Skype Premium or pay as you go plan) to land line and mobile phones..

Skype software will only work on WiFi. ALAS! it twill not over EDGE or 3G data and iPod users simply need to grab themselves a headset with a mic (remember that Bluetooth is coming in 3.0.)

It looks a lot like the normal iPhone phone app Calls on Skype for iPhone work only if your in range of a Wi-Fi Network. So your call quality will depend on the wireless networks nearby. Calls will not work over the cell phone network on the iPhone, while chatting will.
