AT&T has started cracking down unauthorized tethering by using tethering technique employed by iOS that uses an alternate APN (AT&T access point/router). And then you will be warned by sending a notice.

Jailbroken iPhones typically use the same tethering technique as a standard iPhone, the one that’s already present in iOS. This method exposes tethering activity quite readily, because the iPhone, when in tethering mode, sends traffic through an alternate APN (AT&T access point/router) for the express purpose of identifying the traffic as tethered data. This makes it extremely easy for AT&T to identify whether or not an iOS device is utilizing tethering, and just how much of their data is consumed via tethering.

Some tethering applications for iOS make use of alternative methods and route tethered traffic through the phone’s normal data APN, but by and large, most jailbreakers stick with the stock application because it’s easy to use and doesn’t require any complicated setup. STEP 2: Now dial the number ” *3001#12345#* ”

STEP 3: Now iPhone will start Field Test. If you check now your iPhone strength bars is replaced with a number that shows strength measured in decibels. The closer to 0dB the stronger your signal.

RedSn0w, PwnageTool, Sn0wbreeze Updates Released

The updated version of RedSn0w, PwnageTool and Sn0wbreeze has been released by iPhone Dev team. The updates to RedSn0w  PwnageTool and Sn0wbreeze bring to to fix side switch vibration issue as well as verbose mode for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS after untethered jailbreak on iOS 4.3.3.

Redsn0w 0.9.6rc16 update RedSn0w, PwnageTool, Sn0wbreeze Updates Released

PwnageTool and redsn0w have been updated to include a fix for the iPhone3GS/i4 side switch vibration issue (only for 4.3.3!). Thanks to @i0n1c for tracking this down (even though he doesn’t even have an iPhone!).

If you’re already jailbroken at 4.3.3 (by either redsn0w rc15 or custom IPSW), you can install this fix simply by running redsn0w rc16 over your existing 4.3.3 jailbreak. Just uncheck the “Install Cydia” option and check any other options you want. The fix will be installed no matter what you’ve selected. This is safe for even ultrasn0w unlockers to do (because redsn0w itself won’t update your baseband…only an iTunes stock IPSW update/restore will do that).

redsn0w rc16 has a few more improvements: Windows 7 and Vista users should no longer need to set their CPU affinity…just run redsn0w as Administrator in XP compatibility mode. Also, the “verbose boot” option for old-bootrom iPhone 3GS has been fixed for 4.3.3 (remember: old-bootrom 3GS users can even have custom bootlogos that show right at power-up). Enjoy!

Before updating RedSn0w rc16 make sure you have uncheck Cydia installation. The RedSn0w rc16 can be run on RedSn0w rc15.
