Sn0wbreeze v. 2.8 is available for download which will jailbreak iOS 5 beta 1. We have already posted iOS 5 jailbreak using Redsn0w for Mac. But this is tethered jailbreak only which means you will have to connect your iOS device to your computer everything you have to reboot it into a jailbroken state.
Sn0wbreeze is the only jailbreak tool for iOS 5 beta for windows users and it preserves your old baseband so that you can unlock your phone in future using Ultrasn0w.

Jailbreak iOS 5 Beta Using Sn0wbreeze 2.8
STEP 1: First of all Run Sn0wbreeze and click blue-colored arrow to proceed.
STEP 2: Now browser for .ipsw firmware file (iOS 5 firmware) we have already downloaded.
STEP 3: As soon as Sn0wbreeze recognizes the iOS 5 firmware file, you will be greeted then click the “next” to proceeded.
STEP 4: Now select “Expert Mode” from the option then new screen will appear then click “Build IPSW”.
Now wait for a while as Sn0wbreeze is building your custom firmware. Once the process is done, you should see the following screen:
STEP 5: Now in order to enter into DFU mode do the process process:
- Hold on “Power” + “Home” buttons for a 10 seconds.
- If you have successfully entered into DFU mode you will see following screenshot type windows.
Loading iOS 5 Beta 1 on your iOS device.
STEp 6: Select your iOS device icon from the on the iTunes 10.5 beta sidebar.Now hold Left “Shift” button on the keyboard and click on “Restore” button , and point the program to the custom firmware you’ve just created. Remember: Don’t click “Update”, “Restore” or “Check for Update” options.
STEP 7: Now Wait a while as iTunes is installing iOS 5 onto your iOS device. Once the process is done you will see clear message.
Booting Into Tethered Mode
As you know this iOS 5 jailbreak is tethered only which means every time your device should be plugged in, in order to boot into a jailbroken state. You will have to carry out these steps whenever you reboot your device.
Here you will need iBooty.
STEP 8: launch iBooty from your desktop, and select your iOS device you’ve just jailbroken.
STEP 9: Click “Start” button and and follow following instructions which includes entering into DFU mode (again). Once that’s done, then the rest will be done by iBooty.
That’s it.
