Google has released new versions of Android almost at lightning speed. It’s obviously nice to mobile INTERESTED because the many new versions brings new features with it. But the downside is the fragmentation that can occur when the different models on the market end up using different versions of the operating system, and therefore among other can be difficult to make uniform applications and services.
Previously there has been a great proliferation of different versions of Android, but according to the latest figures from Google, so use the vast majority Android models now one of the newest versions.
Android 2.2 rushes forward
According to Google’s own figures, based on all Android phones that have visited the Android Market in a two-week period ending 1st September, so do seven out of 10 Android phones now use either 2.1 or Android Android 2.2. Android 2.1 is still the largest share, with nearly 42 percent of Android-mobile uses this version, but the proportion with Android 2.2 has risen sharply recently, and will probably soon overtake Android 2.1.
Meanwhile, it appears that the greatness of the time for Android 1.5 and 1.6 is here. These now total less than 30 percent, less than half of what they did just four months ago.
