The method was developed by Timothy Whitehead, who got the idea while he traveled in Zambia. Pure must compete with inventions from the rest of the world, when in October will select a winner by James Dyson Award. The winner receives nearly 90,000 dollars for himself and 90,000 dollars for his university.
